6-YEAR-OLD’S EJEN ALI VIDEO WINS HIM 1 MILLION AIRASIA BIG POINTS
His video on ‘Ejen Ali’ wins competition
A6-YEAR-OLD boy walked away with one million AirAsia BIG points after his 15-second video on the Ejen Ali cartoon series won the hearts of judges.
Muhammad Adam Rashidi Mohd Rafiq, who is a fan of the local animation series, submitted a video through his parents’ Ins tag ram account when the# Mi si Asp ira si Air Asia competition kicked off in September last year.
“My son is a fan of the series. He would sit in front of the television for half an hour every Friday to watch the series,” his father, Mohd Rafiq Ismail, said at the award presentation here yesterday.
He said it was his son’s idea to take part in the competition.
Adam, he said, was excited to show off his creativity in the 15second video, which the family shot at a mosque in Kota Baru, Kelantan.
“With this one million BIG points, I hope to take my family of four to perform the Umrah,” said Adam.
Earlier, Ejen Ali and AirAsia launched a MATA Spy Jet, an AirAsia Airbus A320 decked out in livery.
is the first animation series to have its own livery on an AirAsia Airbus A320 aircraft,” said AirAsia Malaysia Commercial head Spencer Lee.
Lee said the partnership concept of# Mi si Asp ira si Air Asia is to encourage the younger generation to show their talent in a fun way.
Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar said the livery marked a momentous occasion for Ejen Ali as the first Malaysian animation to fly high with AirAsia.
“We take pride in being one of the leading Malaysian animation and with Ejen Ali in the air, we hope more kids around the world will be charmed and inspired by this spunky hero to do great things.”
Wau Animation chief executive officer Usamah Zaid Yasin said he hoped the partnership would open up more doors for the animation industry.
“It is a profound acknowledgement that Malaysian animation has reached new heights, catering to a new level of audience experience, beyond entertainment.”
On March 17, the top four winners for the one million BIG points campaign were invited to join Ejen Ali and AirAsia on a secret mission to bring cheer to the Orion Home, which houses 87 underprivileged children in Paroi, Negri Sembilan.
The children, under the patronage of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, were treated to outdoor games, an inspirational talk by an AirAsia pilot and make-up tutorials with AirAsia cabin crew members. They also saw an advance screening of the latest Ejen Ali episode.
Ejen Ali airs on TV3 every Friday at 5.30pm and Saturday at 10.30am.
The series is distributed to more than 50 countries.
