PKNS ordered to pay Elavarasan

-

PKNS coach E. Elavarasan has succeeded in making a claim for half-a-million ringgit from the Super League club.

Last year, Elavarasan was replaced as head coach during the club’s battle against relegation.

The FA of Malaysia’s status committee agreed partially yesterday to Elavarasan’s claim against PKNS and ordered the club to pay the coach RM450,000 in contract stability compensation for the remainder of his contract and an unpaid signing-fee of RM60,000.

Status committee chairman Joehari Ayub said PKNS have until April 22 to make the payment or the club will be referred to the disciplinary committee.

Elavarasan, who said the figure includes income tax and EPF payments, will assess his options after he receives an official release letter from PKNS.

“I will consider what I will be doing next after being notified of the decision officially and getting a release from PKNS,” said Elavarasan, who won PKNS promotion from the Premier League in 2016.

Midfielder Brendan Gan was also successful in his claim of RM100,000 in unpaid salary against Kelantan.

Brendan left Kelantan at the end of 2016 after the player, now with Perak, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury three months earlier while on national duty, bringing an end a three-year spell with the Super League team.

Premier League side Kuantan were also ordered to pay 15 of their former players a total of RM423,000 in unpaid wages.

Joehari said Kuantan also face the prospect of disciplinary action if they do not settle the wages in 30 days.
