Melodious love with Nur Fazura

The artiste delivered songs on the theme of love and relationsh­ips from her self-titled debut album, writes Tahir Alhamzah

SOME may doubt her singing ability but artiste Nur Fazura Sharifuddi­n has proven to her critics that with sheer determinat­ion and a positive attitude, she too has what it takes to catapult her singing career to success.

Her self-titled debut album released Nov 3, last year, has so far sold more than 6,000 units and has been streamed over five million times.

“This is wonderful news. I didn’t expect the album to do so well in sales, considerin­g that this is my first full album,” said the singer and actress.

The 34-year-old, looking radiant, shared this with reporters after her recent showcase held at the Clarke Ballroom, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.

At the showcase presented by ONEMUSIC (an app which allows fans to get active on social media as well as listen to streamed music), Fazura serenaded some 400 fans and invited guests with all nine songs from her album.

The album consists of songs she had released as singles, beginning with her debut track, which was released back in 2014.

Fazura, whose second wedding reception had been held the week prior to the showcase, also performed a duet, of the song with her husband, popular actor Fattah Amin. The song is the soundtrack for last year’s hit drama series,

“Both of us were so nervous about performing the song. Fattah had arrived from Johor Baru just the night before but was sporting enough to be part of this special day for me,” said Fazura, who also performed

with singer-songwriter Aizat Amdan.

The song had originally been performed by Fazura with Aria Dinata, lead vocalist of popular Indonesian band Samsons, who wrote the song.
