Shaheizy Sam latest addition to Calpis family

CALPIS, Japan’s first cultured milk drink, welcomes Shaheizy Sam as the newest addition to its “Goodness, It’s in Our Culture” campaign, which promotes the benefits of fibre.

Shaheizy will spread the goodness of the drink with celebrity Siti Nordiana.

“We are pleased to have Shaheizy Sam on board as his versatilit­y, active lifestyle and zest for life reflect the Calpis brand.

“Calpis helps consumers feel good from the inside by improving their digestive system and enabling them to live healthier, happier lives,” said Etika Sdn Bhd marketing vice-president Santharuba­n T. Sundaram.

Sam, who was overjoyed at being elected brand ambassador, said: “I am thrilled to be a part of this campaign as it fits my lifestyle.

“Calpis fibre is filled with goodness that not only tastes amazing, but also keeps my digestive system in good shape. Better digestion makes me radiate with joy and positivity from within, and leaves me feeling lighter and healthier.”

This campaign aims to tell the brand’s story of “99 Years of Care for Your Digestive Health”, which began in 1904, when founder Kaiun Mishima went on a business trip to Inner Mongolia.

Intrigued by how the locals drank cultured milk to keep their gut healthy and astounded by the taste and healthy properties in the drink, Mishima returned to Japan and developed a cultured-milk drink that would improve people’s digestive system.

In 1919, Calpis was born.

For 99 years, Calpis has been taking care of people’s digestive health. Due to its long history, unleashing goodness from within has always been a part of the brand’s culture.

Now, Calpis has included polydextro­se in its Fibre Original and Fibre Orange drinks. Polydextro­se is a form of dietary fibre that maintains good intestinal health.

Its refreshing cultured-milk drink is available in Original, Mango, Grape, Strawberry, Fibre Original and Fibre Orange variants in 350ml and one litre bottle sizes.

As goodness is a part of the brand’s culture, Calpis is running a weekly contest, ending on April 22, where fans stand a chance to win cash prizes.

Contestant­s need to follow instructio­ns on Calpis Malaysia Facebook page, where they will be required to upload a screenshot in the comments section of a particular post, answer the question and hashtag #calpis #calpisfibr­e.

Forty winners will win RM100 in cash, a carton of Calpis Fibre Original 350ml or Calpis Fibre Orange 350ml, as well as a carton of Oreo Thins Tiramisu 95g or Oreo Thins Vanilla Delight 95g.
