MEDIA PRIMA PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS, LAUNCHES GE14 'FIRST TO DELIVER'
Media company to broadcast programmes live right up to polling day
MEDIA Prima Bhd (MPB) will be the first to deliver news and analyses during the 14th General Election (GE14) with several programmes planned in its stable of television networks.
The programmes will be broadcast live throughout the campaign period right up to polling day, and will showcase news, analyses and commentaries on various issues.
MPB Television Networks news and current affairs group managing editor Datuk Seri Mohd Ashraf Abdullah said the “First to Deliver” campaign was the company’s effort to deliver the latest developments and polling results during the election.
“This campaign will turn all the platforms in MPB television networks into transmitting mediums. This will allow us to be the main news source for Malaysians to get information on the balloting process and procedures without having to switch to other television channels,” he said during the launch of the campaign.
Present were MPB group chairman Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, MPB Television Networks chief executive officer Johan Ishak and New Straits Times Press chief executive officer Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid.
On nomination day, TV3 will air news through talk shows such as Penamaan Calon, Mandat and Terkini Khas.
Dakwat di Jari on TV9, on the other hand, is a 15-episode programme for women to express their views on democracy and hopes for the future.
ntv7 will be broadcasting two English programmes — View Point and News in Brief.
On 8TV, a programme for Chinese
viewers, 14th General Election Polling Results, will feed live updates in Mandarin in twominute snippets.
MPB will also air a special programme for youth, especially those voting for the first time, called Zoom In PRU-14 on the NX Digital portal.
