Vote based on facts, Ali tells civil servants

PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa reminded 1.6 million civil servants in the country to exercise their rights as voters responsibly.

He said civil servants should make their choices based on facts and refrain from allowing emotion to cloud their judgment.

“We cannot run away from the fact that we are facing the (14th) general election on May 9. One needs to make the right choice to ensure the continuity of peace, harmony and economic stability.

“If there are things that need to be improved, the government, under the leadership of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, welcomes your ideas and feedback via various platforms under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS),” he said at the Prime Minister’s Department Excellent Service Awards presentation yesterday.

Ali added that civil servants should support the government’s efforts in driving the country towards achieving the National Transformation 2050 agenda.

In transforming the civil service, Ali said, the prime minister had always reminded civil servants to be inclusive, efficient, embrace strong values and be innovative.

One of the award recipients was Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) Applications Development deputy director Hanissul Jalis Md Yusof, who has served the government for 30 years.

She was also the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Department’s special award for being the “best of the best”.

“I am positive and always love to meet people.

“I am a people person as I enjoy mingling with everyone and this is why I can last long in the civil service sector,” said the 54-yearold Hanissul.
