Professor Dr Abdul Latif Salleh, the dean of Faculty of Business and Management and Faculty of Social Sciences, spent 25 years working at the University of Malaya and following his retirement in 2008, went on to continue teaching at the Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for five years.
Professor Datuk Dr Allan Mathews, dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, is a well-known figure in the pharmacy profession. Having 14 years’ experience in the government sector, pioneering Clinical Pharmacy Services and 22 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he is highly sought after for his tremendous experience.
Professor Dr Alam Sher Malik, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, has had a distinguished career in Clinical Paediatrics and Child Health as well as in Medical Education and Management, over a period of more than three decades, spent in various parts of the world, especially in Pakistan and Malaysia. He is a recognized expert on infectious diseases in children.
Professor Dr Vilasini Pillai, dean of the Faculty of Integrative Sciences, who is also head of Biotechnology, comes with more than 30 years of experience in Agriculture Biotechnology, and Science and Technology-related policies and regulations, having worked in the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute in genetic engineering of crop plants.

QIUP’s quest is to develop allrounded graduates, who not only excel in their studies but also actively participate in conferences, educational competitions and sports.
QIUP’s Computer Science programme undergraduates Dickson Chin, Wilson Ho, Ivan Fong and Wong Kok clinched the three top prizes at the 40th Science Engineering and Design Exhibition at Universiti Teknologi Petronas recently.
Their project, “Intelligent Parking System”, bagged three prizes, the Gold Medal in Open Innovation Challenge category, Most Innovative Award and Best Poster Award.
The debating team clinched podium finishes in three categories at the 2017 National English Olympics competition held at Universiti Teknologi Petronas.
Besides educational competitions, undergraduates also participate in sports competitions and have achieved outstanding results.
There are five faculties at QIUP — Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Business and Management,Facultyof SocialSciences and Faculty of Pharmacy and offers programmes at Foundation, Diploma, Degree and Postgraduate levels.
QIUP’s interim campus is strategically located in Ipoh, away from the distractions of bustling city life and aptly providing a conducive learning environment and lower cost of living.
