Charon to leave Khazanah, KRI next month

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Charon Mokhzani will be leaving Khazanah Nasional Bhd and its unit, Khazanah Research Institute (KRI), in the middle of next month after nearly five years of service.

Charon is Khazanah executive director and KRI managing director.

Khazanah also announced the appointment of investment directors Amran Hafiz Affifuddin and Bryan Lim as executive directors of investments effective April 1. Lim will continue being the head of Khazanah’s regional office in Beijing.

“As announced previously, Lim is also leading Khazanah’s overall North Asia coverage (which comprises China, Japan and South Korea), taking over from executive director (investments) Datuk Ben Chan, who is leaving Khazanah at the end of this month.

“The new appointments and changes are part of Khazanah’s periodic refresh and strengthening of the senior management team, in line with its ongoing leadership succession initiative,” said Khazanah in a statement.

Amran joined Khazanah in June 2011 as senior vice-president of investments. He started his career with Petroliam Nasional Bhd in corporate finance and treasury functions.

Amran then entered the private equity industry, where he served with several firms.

Meanwhile, Lim joined Khazanah as assistant vice-president of investments in December 2005.

Prior to Khazanah, he was with Ernst & Young, Rating Agency Malaysia Bhd and ECM Libra Securities Sdn Bhd.

Last December, Khazanah announced the appointment of Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn and Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin Raja Abdul Aziz as deputy managing directors.
