And now, a new and bigger space
Some brides come with their mother and aunts, for example, and I just feel bad that every time they visit, they would have to climb the stairs to get to the shop.
The new flagship store will have floor access, more parking space, bigger sales floor space, dedicated areas for bespoke and bridal clients, better space for our workshop and the Mimpikita team, and a lot more to love!
Now that I’m finally putting it out there, I’m excited to start operations in our new office and store.
It’s also about time. As Mimpikita expands, we feel it’s only right to move to a bigger space. It will be a breath of fresh air, not just for our customers but also for us. 2018 is the year to do this and we think it’s best to move forward, especially in conjunction with our 10th anniversary.
The vision we had for the brand five years ago definitely was not just this - the current Telawi store is not what I imagined the Mimpikita flagship store to be.
It serves its purpose but I want to bring Mimpikita to greater heights. Having a flagship store will leave a lasting impression on our clients and stakeholders. This, I feel, cannot be done or tackled by just renovating our Telawi store. It has to be a total facelift!
It is a risky idea for Mimpikita to move to a new space in a span of one month — in the same month, we are releasing our new Lebaran Bespoke and Ready-To-Wear collection as well as other ongoing commitments.
But time waits for no one and we don’t want to take any more chances, considering how fickle we can get! brides’ dreams and we have managed to achieve our own dreams by making a mark in Bangsar.
Sweat and tears were shed, hundreds of collections were created within these four walls, friendships were built and memories and milestones were made and reached in this little shoplot to be remembered for the rest of our lives.
This little Telawi shop will forever be special for each one of us. Although we are pumped to start working in the new space, we are a little sad to leave.
With the opening of this new flagship store and office, I hope this shift will bring Mimpikita to a new level and open up an even bigger market for the brand.
Now that one part is done, let’s go get creative and be inspired to start a new chapter in this space.
