4 cops held in connection to discovery of skeletal remains

-

SEREMBAN: Four policemen, including a senior officer, have been arrested in connection to the discovery of human bone fragments found near an abandoned temple in Senawang.

State police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin said the policemen, aged between 27 and 41, were believed to be involved with Geng 36 members, and had allegedly planned the murder of five individuals.

He said the policemen, who were stationed at the Negri Sembilan and Pahang police headquarters, were arrested on April 6, following the arrest of 34 secret society members during Op Khas Hoben 1/2018.

The arrest led to the discovery of bone fragments, believed to be the remains of five different individuals, who had been murdered separately as of three years ago.

He said preliminary investigation connected the four policemen and gang members detained with the murder of the five victims’ remains found.

“We found skeletal remains, believed to be of two individuals, near an abandoned temple in Batu 8, Jalan Sungai Gadut, and another three skeletal remains at Bukit Galena, Jalan SerembanMantin.

“The motive of the murders has been linked to drug trafficking,” he said at the Negri Sembilan police headquarters yesterday.

He said the officers and secret society members were being detained for 28 days under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.
