MB: NEGRI BN MANIFESTO PRACTICAL
2 thrusts with 18 initiatives for development, people’s wellbeing
THE Negri Sembilan Barisan Nasional manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) has outlined two major thrusts with 18 initiatives focusing on the development of the state and the welfare of the people.
The manifesto, announced by state BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan here yesterday, is in line with the vision of a modernised Negri Sembilan by 2045, involving the state’s Modern Development Plan 2045, Malaysia Vision Valley project and Rural Outreach Plan.
With the theme “Bukti, Bukan Sekadar Janji”, the manifesto promised two thrusts for the 2018-2022 period — Prospering the State and People’s Welfare.
Mohamad said under the Prospering the State thrust, BN had set nine clusters to be given priority: economy, investment, infrastructure, education, tourism, agriculture, unity, environment and civil service.
Under the People’s Welfare thrust, BN has outlined nine clusters focusing on community welfare, namely housing, health, the Orang Asli, youth, women, poverty, safety, sports and the environment.
“All promises offered in the manifesto are robust, practical and achievable based on financial ability, thus it will not affect the state’s finances,” he said at the launch of the manifesto and www.bnns2rakyat.com portal.
“This is evident from our success of implementing 44 out of 45 thrusts made in the 13th General Election. One was not implemented as our review found that the project was not a requirement, so we gave priority to the important needs of the people.”
He announced the People’s Welfare Scheme, which included an additional RM50 to the Amanah Dana Anak Malaysia 2050 scheme for newborns.
The scheme provides an assistance of RM1,000 and RM500, respectively, for Negri Sembilan children who pursue their Bachelor’s degree and diploma.
Apart from that, newly-married Negri Sembilan couples will be given an aid of RM550, a death aid of RM1,000 for every Negri Sembilan folk and free licences for hawkers.
BN has promised not to raise the land and individual taxes for five years, and for all places of worship to be given water rebate that will require them to pay only RM1 per month.
The www.bnns2rakyat.com portal contains pledges, the state BN’s manifesto for GE14 and administrative achievements over the past five years. It displays 44 out of 45 cores of the pledges that the state BN had implemented in GE13.
“Only one thrust was not implemented, namely the upgrading of the State Mosque (of Negri Sembilan), the Syariah Court Complex and existing resource centres,” Mohamad said.
“(This is because) they are more of a want rather than necessity, but will be done in stages.”
He said the portal outlined the implementation of work done by government agencies and departments in providing services to the people.
“All past pledges have been successful and in line with the state government’s policy. We will continue the pledges for GE14.”
