PM: Opposition lies as thick as ‘Kamus Dewan’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The lies and slander disseminated by the opposition since the last general election are enough to fill a book as a thick as Kamus Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak quipped in his blog post. He has labelled it #TsunamiPHitnah.

“I’ve written about this countless times. My family and I have always been victims of slander by the opposition, which doesn’t understand the meaning of respect and responsibility.

“The only thing it knows is acquiring power by using any means to obtain it,” he wrote on his blog, najibrazak.com, yesterday.

“The closer we get to the election, the more lies and slander are spread by the opposition, which I describe as #Tsunami-PHitnah.

“If all its slander since the last election is compiled, it will be as thick as Kamus Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.”

During the last election, he said, the opposition had claimed that 40,000 phantom voters were flown into the country from Bangladesh to vote for the government.

“As a result, many Malaysians born and raised in this country were accused of being illegal immigrants and forced to sing Negaraku just because they have a darker skin colour.”

He said the opposition had accused Lembaga Tabung Haji of having incurred RM933 million in losses and could not refund depositors’ money.

Due to the allegation made by PKR vice-president Mohd Rafizi Ramli in February 2016, more than 3,000 depositors closed their accounts.

“They (depositors) lost their eligibility to perform the haj.

“How could the opposition do this to the elderly after years of them waiting for their turn to perform the haj?”
