Achievement due to franchise packages offered by 88 firms, says MFA

-

FRANCHISE International Malaysia (FIM) 2018 has recorded a potential transaction value of RM410 million, an increase of more than 10 per cent from RM373 million previously.

Of the total value, RM90 million was contributed by the Franchise In-Buying Mission programme.

Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan said the achievement was the result of the franchise packages offered by 88 local and international companies.

International franchise companies from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and the Philippines participated at the event from last Friday to Sunday.

There were 10,511 visitors and 940 potential franchisees.

At the opening ceremony, certificates were presented to new franchisors.

Memoranda of understanding were also signed between Marrybrown Sdn Bhd (M) and Famcorp Sdn Bhd (Japan), as well as between MFA and Baitulmal Professional Institute.

This year, besides exhibition and conferences, there were programmes such as franchise business matching, consulting session, in-buying mission and celebrity talks.

Radzali said these were the value-added elements to further help exhibitors and visitors gain more exposure and knowledge throughout the three-day event.

This annual event was co-organised by MFA and the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
