Keep working to attract voters, Salleh tells BN machinery
KOTA MARUDU: Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak has reminded the Barisan Nasional party machinery not to be satisfied with winning the hearts of the people, so far, but to continue the momentum to ensure BN’s victory in 14th General Election (GE14).
Salleh, who is Umno treasurer, said politics was not just about elections and campaigns, but a struggle to defend the people’s fate and not limited to a period of five years after winning the general polls and getting a mandate.
“With three days left to GE14, the party machinery should continue to strengthen, consolidate and boost the BN machinery to wrest back Matunggong (state seat), thereby garnering a big victory in the Kota Marudu parliamentary seat.
“It is crucial we work together to safeguard the people, administer every corner well so that they become a stronghold for the people to continue voting for the BN on May 9 and in the future,” he said.
Salleh said this when speaking at the meet-the-people session, which was attended by more than 1,500 BN supporters in the Matunggong hall near here yesterday.
Present were Salleh’s wife, Datin Seri Raya Erom; BN candate for Kota Marudu parliamentary seat Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili; BN candidate for the Matunggong state seat Julita Mojungki; Kota Marudu Umno division chief Datuk Wetrom Bahanda and former Matunggong assemblyman Datuk Jelani Hamdan.
Salleh reminded the people not to be swayed by the pledges of the opposition.
