An upset Veenod wants Kelantan to pay him

- Rodly Fadly

S. Veenod is adamant that the FA of Kelantan (Kafa) settle his salary arrears amounting to RM100,000 which has been owed to him since February.

Veenod, who has been dropped by the Red Warriors new Syrian coach Fajer Ebrahim, said he has been very tolerant and patient but has lost patience with Kafa’s antics which he described as flippant.

“Kafa still owe me two and a half months salary which totals close to RM100,000. Up to now they have only paid up 50 per cent of my February salary,” said Veenod.

“I have made all sorts of efforts to get what is rightfully mine, which include face-to-face meetings with Kafa president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan, and even asking countless times via WhatsApp messages, but all to no avail.

“Instead the Kafa president has asked me to terminate my contract on my own accord and she has promised she will settle all the salary arrears owed.

“The problem is, it is not me who wants to leave the team, but the team that has dropped me without any proper or valid reasons. If they wanted to terminate my contract and compensate me accordingly, then I could accept such a scenario.

“I have a family to support, and bank loans to service. But if this is the situation and it persists, am I supposed to eat dust, or am I supposed to go and borrow money from loan sharks just to get by?”

Veenod is hoping that Kafa will be more sensitive and compassionate towards his current predicament and be responsible enough to solve this issue as soon as possible before he gets fed up and takes more drastic action.

“Up till now, I have not lodged an official complaint with the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM), but if Kafa continue to ignore my claims then I will have no other choice but go ahead and do so.

“I am ready to end my contract with Kelantan, provided there is a team that wants me during the second transfer window, but I will still demand for my salary arrears because it is rightfully mine.

“However, if there is no team interested in signing me, I will see out the remainder of my contract to the end of the 2019 season even though I have been dropped from the team, except though if Kafa want to terminate my contract early and are willing to compensate me,” stressed Veenod.
