Zambry’s approach an example to others

-

IPOH: Former Perak menteri besar Tan Sri Mohd Tajol Rosli Ghazali described a meet-the-people programme by Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir as unique and should be an example to other leaders.

“The programme is like the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC). When he goes to the ground, he will not be alone. He will take his ‘tour’ team, comprising state committee chairmen and department directors.

“People want to meet him and the state committee chairmen personally. This is a good initiative because many people are eager to meet their leader,” he said.

Tajol Rosli said that just like the UTC, Zambry would bring many different departments and agencies under one roof when he met the people.

“He will bring health officers to do medical check-ups, discuss education sponsorships by bringing bodies such as Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) and agricultural bodies,” he added.

Tajol Rosli said this initiative started after Barisan Nasional took over the state, and had been going on for almost five years.

“This is a great example for leaders in other states to follow,” said Tajol Rusli, who was menteri besar from 1999 to 2008.

The meet-the-people programme began in 2010 with the motto “Tiada Tertinggal, Tiada Terpinggir” (None left out, none left behind). The programme also stresses the 3F concept of Field, Feel and Fill.

During the programme, issues pertaining to the community would be resolved and development projects would be discussed and implemented. Among the projects are the Amanjaya Maritime Centre, Watercity Perak and the Heavy Industry, Eco-Tourism and Cluster Autocity.
