‘DAP WANTS NGA TO CONTROL PERAK MB’

This disproves DAP adviser’s claim that the party had no designs on the post, says member

DAP wants the powers of the Perak menteri besar to be in the hands of the Chinese community. DAP life-long member Amran Ahmad Nor claimed this was based on an email sent to him by the party’s sole Malay candidate in the state, Dr Abdul Aziz Bari.

He said Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming was, in the email, suggested as the one who would ultimately hold all power, as he would be the one pulling the strings of the one chosen as menteri besar should the opposition take over the state.

He said Aziz had sent him the email early last month after becoming frustrated at being moved from Selangor to contest the Tebing Tinggi state seat in Perak.

“Aziz told me in the email that he was used to canvas votes due to the Malay demographics of the area.

“He also said this was because former Perak menteri besar Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin (PKR Sungai Rapat candidate) was no longer a figure projected by Parti Amanah Negara,” he said while holding a printout of the email.

Amran claimed that the email, among others, suggested that Nga would be conferred the true powers of a menteri besar.

He said this disproved DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang’s statements that the party had no designs on the post.

“I urge Malay and Perak voters not to buy into their scheme and reject opposition candidates running for the polls under the PKR logo as that too is a ruse to get the Malay votes.

“I challenge Nga to come clean on alleged internal disputes on their menteri besar candidate for the state.”

He also challenged Lim and DAP to respond to these allegations, adding that he would be exposing more instances of deception and underhanded tactics by the party before polling day on Wednesday.

Amran said Lim also needed to respond to his earlier allegations that DAP planned to disseminate “malicious” propaganda materials containing slander and lies against Barisan Nasional chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
