Viral videos question Shafie’s sincerity
KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is in a spot after a number of videos started circulating over the weekend, depicting the Kadazandusun Murut (KDM) community’s unhappiness with him.
In one of the videos via WhatsApp, local opposition Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) president Datuk Henrynus Amin questioned the Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president’s sincerity in championing KDM.
“Are you confident of Shafie? After being dismissed from Umno, he suddenly appears as an angel who has a new found love for the KDM?
“He is now delivering sweet talks.
“He even invited a pastor to conduct Christian prayers during a recent meeting with the people.
“How delightful... the act of attracting pastors and deacons to join him,” Henrynus can be heard saying in the video.
In another video, Melalap villagers in the interior of Tenom can be heard saying that contrary to what Warisan wants to portray, the KDM, especially those from their area, reject the opposition party and that Barisan Nasional is more prominent there.
The villagers said they could see the true colours of Warisan and its leader. Another villager said Warisan wanted someone to influence the KDM, but the candidate they placed in Tenom was not even from that area or of Murut ethnicity.
