Royal Caribbean ship will be making 74 calls to Klang, Penang and Langkawi
ONE of Asia’s largest cruise ships, the “Voyager of the Seas”, operated by American global cruise company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, is back in Southeast Asia from now until June next year.
The ship will be making 74 calls to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang and Langkawi, with more than 66 sailings.
These are among the 90 sailings of three to nine nights from Singapore to a variety of regional destinations, including Phuket and Bangkok in Thailand.
The cruise ship, which has 15 decks and can accommodate 4,269 guests, offers a variety of activities and entertainment options exclusive to Royal Caribbean, such as the Royal Promenade, a boulevard of dutyfree boutiques, an ice-skating rink and a full-sized sports court with the FlowRider surf simulator and rock-climbing wall.
The ship also comes equipped with a three-tier theatre and the DreamWorks Experience, popular with guests of all ages, which features characters such as Shrek and Fiona from “Shrek” and Po from “Kung Fu Panda” in parades, character breakfasts and photo opportunities.
For gastronomists, there are numerous dining options onboard, including Café Promenade, which is open 24 hours a day, the main dining room and the Windjammer Cafe buffet restaurant, which serves an array of international cuisine and a selection of Asian dishes.
There are also specialty restaurants, such as Chops Grille Steakhouse, Italian restaurant Giovanni’s Table, Izumi for Asian cuisine and Johnny Rockets.
Accommodation choices range from luxurious suites to the unique Promenade staterooms, which offer views overlooking the Royal Promenade, and the Virtual Balcony interior staterooms, which show real-time panoramic views of the ocean and the ship’s destinations.
