‘Time to determine country’s destiny’
PEKAN: The 14th General Election (GE14) is a time for Malaysians to determine their destiny, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman reminded voters that the polls today was an opportunity to choose a government that would benefit them.
“I believe that this election (GE14) is not a time for having fun, or one merely for fulfilling one’s constitutional obligations.
“It is a time to determine the destiny of the people of Malaysia.
“Please reflect on what Barisan Nasional can do. We have issued a manifesto that is the best for Malaysians.”
Najib, who is BN candidate for Pekan parliamentary seat, was speaking at the Moh Balik Undi Weh programme here yesterday.
Present were Datuk Seri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali and Datuk Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff, who are BN candidates for Peramu Jaya and Bebar state seats.
Najib said it was imperative that the people chose BN over the disarrayed opposition.
“We cannot choose the opposition, which is fragile and has no understanding with each other. If we choose BN, our future will be assured.
“As Pekan candidate, I will increase efforts to develop the constituency. Tomorrow (today), it is not just about Pekan remaining in BN’s hands, but with a higher majority. Last time, the majority was 35,617. This time, we want to achieve 40,000,” he said to cheers from the audience.
