‘Do not be swayed by DAP’s propaganda’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP Labour Bureau vice-chairman Amran Ahmad has painted a grim picture of what the nation’s future would look like should the DAP-led opposition pact win the 14th General Election (GE14).

He said a vote for PKR would mean handing over Malaysia to DAP, which is using Langkawi candidate Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a “puppet prime minister”.

“As a party that secures the most number of parliamentary seats, DAP will control five ministries after letting go of the prime minister and deputy prime minister’s posts to the Malays.

“My message to PKR supporters is this: don’t think that Dr Mahathir will relinquish the prime minister’s post to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for as long as his son (Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir) is around to continue his legacy.

“Don’t let yourself be swayed by DAP’s propaganda.”

The people, said Amran, should not be duped by DAP’s subversive propaganda as the party would do anything to pin the blame on its opponents.

He said the people would be trodden upon if they voted for PKR, which he described as DAP’s lapdog.

“I urge the public not to take this risk because you will regret it when you are disenfranchised and the nation is in a state of chaos.”

In Shah Alam, former Selangor menteri besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim reminded people not to be fooled by PKR.

Khalid cited himself as a victim of PKR leaders’ dirty political game, whom he alleged were more interested in looking after the pockets of certain quarters.

He said his fallout with the party started when he refused to release the state government’s money for the party’s use.

“When I was menteri besar, I had managed to increase the state’s reserves. With the healthier reserves, I was told to give the money to the party.

“I refused to do so because it was the people’s money and the leaders were upset with me.

“I would rather step down than be involved in such dirty politics as I had been entrusted to get higher revenue and give it back to the people.”

Khalid had been helping Selangor Pas throughout the campaign period for GE14.

He alleged that PKR de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wanted him to use the state government’s money to carry out PKR programmes and campaigns.

Khalid took a swipe at Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali by saying that the latter could not differentiate between politics and the people’s interests.

“I have put everything in order for the state’s water restructuring exercise, but he (Azmin) destroyed (it).

“He wanted to pay RM2.7 billion for Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd equity, which is 10 times higher than the original offer of RM250.6 million.”
