Chegubard hands over evidence to MACC

SHAH ALAM: Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia founder Badrul Hisham Shaharin has handed over documents containing alleged abuse of power regarding land belonging to an Islamic institution in Petaling Jaya to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

Badrul Hisham, known as Chegubard, claimed he had proof of a conversation between several individuals, including PKR leaders, about the RM1 billion land transaction.

“I have handed over the evidence, including a copy of an official letter written by hand, copies of emails and a DVD, among others.”

Badrul Hisham claimed that a 4ha plot of land in Section 14, Petaling Jaya, was at first handed over to Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd, which was under Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI).

“However, in 2015, a reputable developer sent a proposal to the agency to purchase or develop the land, offering RM1 billion over a period of seven years.”

He claimed that two PKR leaders and an MBI representative met the developer and told him to send a new proposal with a lower offer, adding that the difference would be given to them “under the table”, purportedly for political funds.

“The developer, however, refused to accept this and insisted that the offer remain the same.”

He said the issue went on till Dec 22, last year when another company was given the right to develop the land, with an offer of only 16 per cent of the RM1 billion proposed by the reputable developer, with the payment period set at 10 years.

Badrul Hisham questioned how a developer offering a payment that was significantly less than a previous offer could be given the right to develop the land.

“It is strange when a lower offer is accepted. Has the ‘under the table’ political fund been paid?”
