Local lip colour brand Shade Dough by Hanis Zalikha adds on a matte lip cream variation to its line-up, writes Syida Lizta Amirul Ihsan
BLOGGER, actress and businesswoman Hanis Zalikha recently released Shade Dough Breakfast Club, a collection of seven long-lasting matte lip cream called Lip Bait.
Held at Paul in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Hanis said it was the biggest launch for her brand so far. “I started Shade Dough because I wanted to try something new and fun. But this passion turns out to be a beautiful business venture for me.”
Initially every sample is based on Hanis’ own taste and preference. But once the line-up started growing, she has a team of women of different styles and skin tones to help her develop the products.
Shade Dough started with only five shades and slowly grew in colours each month. Hanis, and her husband and business partner Hairul Azreen gave the brand a one-year pilot period to gather the best industry experts for a beauty brand.
Hanis says her matte lip creams are formulated carefully with moisturising components (including Vitamin C) that lasts long on the lips with minimum reapplication.
“It feels light on your lips, you won’t even realise you’ve had it on all day! Each shade is chosen with much care, taking into account considerations of women of different lifestyles and skin tones,” she says.
Shade Dough Breakfast Club consists of seven shades - Marmalade,Gingerbread, Cookie Dough, Brownie Points, French Toast, Buttercream and Bubblegum Baby.
Inspired by the current trend of nude lips, this range is made up of natural and brown-based shades. Whether fair, medium or tanned skin, anyone can get her nude shade or her own skin tone.
