‘JOHOR GOVT WILL HELP EVERYONE’

PH govt will not neglect opposition areas, says Muhyiddin

- FAHMY AZRIL ROSLI

TAN Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday said he has asked Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian to “re-adjust” his statement of not providing allocations to opposition state representatives, saying that such a move is against the spirit of Pakatan Harapan.

The state Johor PH chairman said the coalition should look into the welfare of all levels of society, regardless of political ideology or race.

He said the people had given their trust by voting in the new government, and as such, everyone should be treated fairly, including the opposition.

“This means we have to help people in the opposition areas. I have informed the MB about this. Just give him some time,” he said, adding that it was PH’s policy to act fairly and responsibly.

“If an area is in need of help, we will help, no matter who the people support,” he said after visiting PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital yesterday.

He said the state government should not emulate the administrative style of the previous Barisan Nasional-led state government.

“It is not our (PH) way to punish.

“What is important is the implementation, which means that opposition areas will not be neglected or not given allocation.

“We don’t want unbalanced development.

“We don’t want opposition areas to be left behind.

“Our approach is we will be fair.”
