“We will put political stability at the highest level to convince investors to invest here.”
JOHOR BARU: The newly-formed Johor government has given an assurance to provide better infrastructure facilities to investors in the state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian said investors would be offered political stability in the state to boost investment opportunities.
“We will put political stability at the highest level to convince investors to invest here. We will also look into other things needed by investors.
“We will take into account the road network, readiness to provide adequate water supply for factories and sub-stations for electricity generation,” said Osman, who is Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary, at his first press conference after being sworn in as the 16th menteri besar of Johor, here, on Saturday.
In another development, Osman confirmed that he would review all development projects by the previous state government.
“I want to review projects left by the previous government. Those that are not economical and do not benefit the people of Johor will be halted but projects beneficial to the communities would continue.
“All these will be discussed with the executive council. I will not take revenge because I do not want to scare investors in the state,” he said.
On Friday, Johor PH chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had handed over the responsibility to the new Johor state government to determine whether to proceed with previous government projects, such as the Forest City developments.
