DATUK Seri Najib Razak spent more than four hours being questioned by the Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission (MACC) yesterday at its headquarters over its probe into SRC International, a former subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Najib, speaking to the press after emerging from the headquarters, said the questioning was done professionally.

“I have given my statement to MACC on the SRC International issue in 2015. My statement today (yesterday) was more detailed apart from verifying some documents.

“The session started at 10am and ended at 2.15pm, with a 30minute break in between.

“I want to thank the team that recorded my statement as they conducted the session professionally,” he said before leaving the building at 3.15pm.

Najib said he would have his statement recorded again tomorrow.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull clarified that Najib was summoned to have his statement recorded and was not under arrest.

He said Najib was called in to facilitate an investigation into SRC International.

“We received new information, so he (Najib) was summoned to have his statement recorded.”

On whether other individuals would be called in to have their statements recorded, Shukri said only Najib was called in yesterday.

“We may summon one or two individuals linked to the case for questioning.

“We will determine our next move after recording their statements.”
