PAKATAN Harapan will require its ministers, deputy ministers and members of parliament to declare their assets. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, when asked on whether PH would carry out an asset declaration exercise among its leaders, replied in the affirmative.

“Yes, I think so. It is part of what we have said.

“It is part of our management’s way of doing things,” she said after clocking in as women, family and community development minister yesterday.

She had earlier received a handover-of-duty note from her predecessor, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.

In March, news portals had reported that 36 Parti Amanah Negara and PKR members, who had been earmarked as 14th General Election candidates, had declared their assets in an event organised by Invoke Malaysia.

However, the event did not involve leaders from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and DAP.

It was reported that 130 PH leaders had also declared their assets with Invoke.

DAP publicity secretary Tony Pua was reported as saying that the party leadership would declare their assets only when they captured Putrajaya.

On when the exercise would be executed, Dr Wan Azizah said the matter lay with Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.

On her confidence in PH’s ability to fulfil its top 10 pledges in 100 days, seeing that its full cabinet has yet to be formed, she said PH was doing its best to meet them.

“We have a working cabinet, and at the cabinet meeting yesterday (Wednesday), we understand that there are many things to do and 100 days to keep our promises. This is our priority and all the ministers are aware of it and working hard to do it.”
