Perlis Pas proposes for PKR, BN to form unity state government

-

KANGAR: Perlis Pas is proposing that Barisan Nasional and PKR form a unity government to solve the political turmoil surrounding the appointment of the menteri besar, which has dragged on for more than three weeks now.

State Pas commissioner Mohd Shukri Ramli said his party would not demand any post in the state government, including that of menteri besar.

“Perlis Pas is proposing a unity government (for the state) for the future of the people here.

“We are not seeking for any post, and PKR should not demand the menteri besar post either, which has already been decided on by Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail.

“For Pas, the most important thing is to solve the political turmoil, so that the state government can serve the people,” he said yesterday.

Shukri said Pas made the offer as it saw no sign that the political impasse would end soon.

“The 14th General Election was almost one month ago, yet Perlis has failed to form a leadership at the state level.

“When Datuk Seri Azlan Man was appointed menteri besar, the crisis (became even) worse.

“The recent action by BN to propose 11 candidates for menteri besar was uncalled for because the menteri besar has already been appointed by the Perlis ruler,” Shukri added.
