Hartalega, Dialog and MAHB become constituen­t stocks

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd and FTSE said there will be three changes to the constituen­ts of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) following the semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series.

Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Dialog Group Bhd and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) will replace YTL Corp Bhd, AMMB Holdings Bhd and Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd in the index.

Part of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series, the FBM KLCI is widely used by investors as the main benchmark for the Malaysian market, including derivative­s through FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Options.

The benchmarks are also tracked by a number of indexlinke­d financial products such as exchange traded funds.

The FBM KLCI reserve list comprising of five highest ranking non-constituen­ts of the index by market capitalisa­tion will be used in the event that one or more constituen­ts are deleted from the key index, in accordance with its ground rules during the period up to the next semi-annual review.

The reserve list comprises Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, Top Glove Corp Bhd, Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd, Westports Holdings Bhd and AirAsia Group.

Meanwhile, the new additions for the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index are YTL, AMMB, QL Resources, Astro, Magnum, ViTrox, Velesto Energy, Supermax Corporatio­n, Kerjaya Prospek Group and TA Global.

As a result, Hartalega, Dialog, MAHB, UMW Holdings, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia, CapitalLan­d Malaysia Mall Trust, Eastern & Oriental Bhd, Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd, 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd and WCT Holdings Bhd will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index.

All constituen­t changes take effect on June 18 this year with the next review in December this year.

The FTSE Group and Bursa Malaysia have been partnering since 2006 to provide a suite of indices for the Malaysian market.
