BUS, TRAIN TICKETS SELLING LIKE HOT CAKES

KTMB says it will provide additional ETS services to meet demand

TRAIN and bus tickets are selling like hot cakes with Hari Raya Aidilfitri only 11 days away.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) said its Electric Train Service (ETS) tickets, which went on sale on May 11, for northern destinatio­ns were sold out.

Its spokesman said to meet the high demand, KTMB would be providing 19,800 additional ETS tickets, along with six ETS trips.

“The tickets are for travel dates from June 12 to 14 and June 17 to 24.

“Sale of the tickets will be made available starting tomorrow (today) at 10am.”

KTMB, through its KTM Holidays and Event Management, will be offering chartered train known as “Lambaian Aidilfitri” for journey between Kajang and Tumpat.

“This service is for the public who are heading back to the East Coast.

“The journey from Kajang to Tumpat is on June 11, while from Tumpat to Kajang on June 20.

“Tickets will be made available tomorrow (today) from 8.30am onwards.”

The tickets for adults are priced at RM150 for premier (seated), RM135 (sleeper superior A), RM140 (sleeper superior B) and RM130 for superior (seated).

As for children, the price is at RM88 for premier (seated), RM83 (sleeper superior A), RM88 (sleeper superior B) and RM78 for superior (seated).

Meanwhile, Harian Metro reports that Sani Express bus tickets for four days before Hari Raya had been sold out.

Tickets for destinatio­ns such as Alor Star, Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan were sold out for dates between June 11 and 15, while for Kota Baru from June 8 to 15.

It is learnt that the company has no plan for additional trips.
