Kerjaya Prospek bags TPD job

KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s wholly-owned Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd has bagged a constructi­on contract from Tanjung Pinang Developmen­t Sdn Bhd (TPD) worth RM136.65 million.

In a statement yesterday, the company said the contract involved the constructi­on of a marine bridge crossing the sea linking Jalan Seri Tanjung Pinang on Penang island to Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2 (STP2) island.

The constructi­on works will take 27 months from its scheduled commenceme­nt next Monday and is targeted for completion by September 10 2020.

“The project is expected to contribute to the revenue, earnings and net asset per share of the group for the financial years 2018 to 2020,” it said.

TPD is a subsidiary of Eastern & Oriental Bhd and holds the concession rights to the twophase developmen­t of the STP reclamatio­n project, which is located at the northeast coast of Penang.

Phase 1 (STP1) is a 97.2ha reclamatio­n project located adjacent to STP on Penang island, which is fully reclaimed and close to completion. STP2 is a 307.8ha reclaimed island located across the waters to the east of STP1.

“With our strong outstandin­g order book of about RM3.02 billion, we expect this project and other projects to contribute positively to top-line and bottomline growth for the next few years,” said Kerjaya Prospek executive chairman Datuk Tee Eng Ho.
