Celebratin­g Disney-inspired Teachers Day

mark Teachers Day last month, 138 teachers from 43 schools around the Klang Valley were treated to a Disney-themed wonder at Sunway University. The event was organised by some 70 students from the Event Management and Hotel Management diploma programmes at the School of Hospitalit­y Sunway University.

by students from the BA (Honours) Contempora­ry Music (Audio Technology) course. A pop quiz for the teachers generated loads of excitement as the winners walked away with prizes.

In her welcome address, Sunway University and Sunway Education Group senior executive director Dr Elizabeth Lee thanked the teachers for laying the foundation for the young in school whereas Sunway endeavours to provide youth with a good higher education to complement the excellent foundation laid. Aside from further developing intellectu­al capacities and academic talent, the university hopes to nurture young people into empowered lifelong learners who strive to make a meaningful difference and a positive impact in the world.

Impressed with the students’ work ethics, Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur teacher Wong Yen Chen commended the event management students for providing the invited teachers a happy day.

Event project manager Clemen Irwin Tan Jing You said his team only had two weeks to propose and execute their plans for the celebratio­n.
