MEDIA PRIMA’S ANGGUN LIFE DRAWS 5,000 IN JB
Festival has more than 100 booths offering clothes, beauty accessories, lifestyle products
MORE than 5,000 people thronged the Persada Johor International Convention Centre yesterday for the first day of Media Prima Bhd’s Anggun Life Festival.
The event, which showcased a staggering array of clothes, beauty accessories, health and lifestyle products, ends today.
Media Prima TV Networks chief executive officer Johan Ishak said they were aiming for a 10,000 turnout over the course of the festival.
“We have a variety of offerings. Shoppers can look forward to more than 100 booths featuring an array of baju raya, cookies, home essentials and other items.
“As for showbiz fans, actor Remy Ishak is also slated to make an appearance to coincide with the novel and movie Pulang, an original production by Media Prima Bhd’s Primeworks Studios.”
Johan said the fun would continue in an even bigger scale in September at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Other activities throughout the event included meet-and-greet sessions with Anggun Life ambassadors Amar Baharin and Amyra Rosli, as well as the cast of Drama Sangat — Izzue lslam, Nina lskandar, Saharul Ridzuan and many more.
Local celebrities Sherry Ibrahim, Mia Ahmad, Yana Samsuddin, Fadzil Zahari, Zul Huzaimi, Fedtri Yahya, Ameera Zaini, Chef Naem, Mok Cun, Dayah Bakar, Nadya Syahera and Nora Lunia will also be participating.
The Wanita Hari Ini (WHI) programme will hold a live crossover with hosts Fiza Sabjahan, Hazrena Kassim and Uyaina Arshad, who are also Anggun Life personalities.
Yesterday, WHI interviewed Permatang Pauh member of parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar, where she spoke on the need to explore the potential of young women, especially in rural areas.
“If we look at statistics, most local universities are dominated by female students, and yet after they graduate, their dreams fall by the wayside due to many factors, including starting families.”
She said in the government sector, women only made up 11 per cent of those in senior positions as many had to abandon their careers to raise children.
“This is something the government should look deeply into and provide solutions, such as having daycare centres for their staff,” said Nurul Izzah, who was mobbed by visitors seeking selfies with her.
Meanwhile, those seeking to do charity can do so at Anggun Life. The “Baju Baharu Di Hari Raya” corporate social responsibility programme allows people to donate new clothes in special boxes, which will later be presented to orphanages in Johor Baru.
