3 buses, lorry and excavator destroyed in fire at DBKL store
KUALA LUMPUR: Fire razed a store belonging to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) inJalan 6, off Jalan Chan Sow Lin, in Sungai Besi yesterday, destroying three buses, a lorry and an excavator.
City Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said 17 personnel from KLCC, Seputeh and Keramat fire stations rushed to the scene in four engines following a distress call at 4.34pm.
“The team found the blaze was at the premises of DBKL used to store its condemned materials,” he said here yesterday. There were no casualties in the incident.
In a separate incident, Khirudin said several rooms in a five-storey building, which housed an entertainment outlet, in Jalan Sungai Besi were razed in a fire on Monday. He said the department received a distress call at 3.38pm and 15 firefighters from the Hang Tuah and Pudu fire stations were dispatched.
“The whole of the fifth floor was destroyed in the incident.”
