Girl in tudung impresses as football juggler

KLANG: The amazing skill of a girl football juggler, dressed in baju kurung and headscarf, has caught the attention of Netizens and a video of her in action has gone viral on Facebook.

The ability of Qhouirunni­sa’ Endang Wahyudi, 18, fondly called Nisa, in juggling football has incurred the envy of many in the male-dominated sport.

She has been practising football juggling even more often in line with the current World Cup fever.

“Women in Muslim dress should not feel hindered in freestyle sports such as football, as the will to do so is on us,” she told Bernama at Bandar Botanic Lake Park near Klang recently.

The eldest of three siblings, Nisa, who studying Islamic Science at Universiti Al-Madinah in Shah Alam, said she began taking an interest in football after accompanyi­ng her younger brother to play futsal two years ago.

She said her experience in performing with two friends at Sunway Velocity Mall was the starting point for her to hone her skills.

She said her father initially did not approve of her activities in football, but relented after seeing her train enthusiast­ically so much so her parents were now supportive of her interest.

Nisa said she looked to female footballer Lisa Zimouche of Paris as the source of her inspiratio­n in the sport.
