‘PH IN KELANTAN, TERENGGANU MAY GET POSTS’
Up to PM to decide, says Mohamad Sabu
PARTI Amanah Negara (PAN) president Mohamad Sabu is confident the Federal Government will appoint at least one senator from Kelantan and Terengganu to the post of minister or deputy minister.
This is despite Pakatan Harapan (PH) not winning any seats in these two states in the 14th General Election (GE14).
Mohamad, who is also defence minister, said the matter would be discussed and left to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to decide.
“I’m confident that these two states will not be forgotten. I’m sure there will be appointment of senators. Furthermore, the full cabinet has not been named yet,” he said after attending the Mesra Aidilfitri with the Defence Minister event, organised by Kelantan PH at the Tunjong Rural Transformation Centre here yesterday. Present were Kelantan PH chairman Husam Musa and Kelatan PAN chairman Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah.
The prime minister had earlier announced the 13 ministers and the final figure is expected to reach 28 after representatives from Sabah and Sarawak are included.
Mohamad said PAN had appointed a special team to conduct a survey on why PAN did not gain overwhelming support in the East Coast in GE14.
He said the team needed to present views and criticisms on how PAN and PH could wrest these three states in GE15.
Kelantan and Terengganu are ruled by Pas while Pahang is administered by Barisan Nasional.
