MYANMAR NATIONALS HELD TO ASSIST PROBE
Duo, a man and woman, arrested in Selayang on Monday
TWO Myanmar nationals were arrested yesterday to assist police in the investigation into the murder of Grab driver Aiman Nosri.
Aiman, 27, was found dead in his vehicle at Taman Selayang Makmur in Batu Caves on Saturday.
District police deputy chief Superintendent Tey Kong Seng said the suspects — a man and woman — were arrested in Selayang about 1am yesterday.
“The male suspect, 32, and the woman, in her 20s — both Myanmar nationals — were detained to help in the investigation.
“Further investigation is being conducted. We are looking into the relationship between the two (suspects).”
However, he declined to disclose whether the foreigners were the last passengers whom Aiman had ferried.
He said police would study a closed circuit television camera footage from the location where the victim’s vehicle was found, adding that this was to find out when the vehicle had left the location.
“The victim was reported to have gone missing since June 21 before he was found in the car at the location last Saturday.
“No witnesses have yet to come forward or notify us on when the vehicle was abandoned at the location.”
Aiman was found in the back seat of his car in an inverted position, with his head on the floor and his legs upright, at 8.20pm on Saturday
Checks found laceration on his neck, but no weapon was found at the scene.
The investigation conducted by the forensic unit of the Selangor police contingent headquarters found two mobile phones, shoes, socks, slippers and a shirt in the car.
Based on records, the victim last ferried passengers from Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock in Kuala Lumpur to Selayang Baru in Selangor at 9.34pm on June 21.
