‘EX-LOVER MAY UPLOAD NUDE PIX OF ME’
Woman lodges report after 6 years of torment
AFTER six years of being a sex slave to a man she met on Facebook, a 20year-old woman finally lodged a police report after the man threatened to post her nude pictures online.
The woman, who only wanted to be known as Ng, said she was 14 when she got to know her tormentor, who is now 27, through Facebook.
The two quickly became an item. After six months, the man, who is a chef, began asking her for nude pictures and videos of herself.
“At first, I rejected his requests, but I gave in as I was in love with him. He became ‘addicted’ to this and started asking me for more pictures.
“Since then, I think I have sent him hundreds of nude pictures and videos of myself,” she said, adding that they had also taken part in steamy video chats.
Speaking at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department at Wisma MCA, Ng said she could not stand the man’s requests anymore and wanted to end the relationship, but he refused to accept it.
“He threatened to upload the pictures I sent him on social media websites if I insisted on breaking up with him. He said no one else could ‘own me’. His actions forced me to lodge a report at the Bukit Raja police station in Klang on June 21.”
However, Ng is worried that her ex-lover would make good on his threat. She also worries about her safety.
MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong said his office had received 12 complaints of threats to spread nude pictures on the Internet this year.
“Of these cases, one involved a male victim. Most of these victims were too trusting of their partners.
“However, there are also cases where they were unaware that they were being recorded in the nude by their partners. The pictures and recordings were then used to extort money or as a threat against the victims to induce them to remain in the relationship,” he said.
