Stop marine plastic pollution

-

ADIDAS Malaysia’s Run For The Oceans returns for the second year, with Adidas Runners Kuala Lumpur (ARKL) hosting the five-kilometre run in Setia Alam in Shah Alam. The campaign, held in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, is aimed at raising awareness on the threat of marine plastic pollution. Beginning June 8, Adidas pledged to match every kilometre run tracked on the Runtastic phone app with US$1 (about RM4) for the first one million kilometres, in support of the Parley Ocean School initiative. To contribute, runners just need to join their respective Adidas Runners community and start running after signing up for adidas x Parley Run For The Oceans movement.

The event saw 250 runners from the ARKL community collectively logging more than 1,250km using the Runtastic phone app. ARKL captains Azwan Bunjing and Fatin Nabila led the run, joined by online personality Reuben Kang and actress Sharifah Sakinah, as well as national athletes Ooi Tze Liang and Zoe Bowden.
