Support for optometrists

THE Association of Malaysian Optometrists (AMO) recently held the inaugural Global Orthokeratology and Myopia Control Conference (GOMCC) at The Gardens in Kuala Lumpur, sponsored by lens maker Essilor. Experts from various countries shared their experience and best practices in managing the progression of myopia, amidst estimates that half the world’s population — or close to five billion people — will be myopic by 2050. Essilor says it is committed to support AMO in its mission to equip regional optometrists with the essential skills and knowledge to address the increasing prevalence of myopia among the young population.
