Fowler favours Croatia, Scholes picks France
legend Robbie Fowler and Manchester United rival Paul Scholes are once again on opposite sides.
When it comes to tomorrow’s World Cup final, their predictions of the winners differ.
Fowler and Scholes used to be on opposite sides in the English Premier League with the former playing for Liverpool and the other for Manchester United.
This time, Fowler picked Croatia while Scholes chose France.
“Both teams deserve to be there. France have been one of the standout teams throughout but Croatia’s performance has been dogged, professional and good.
“Look, I wouldn’t be surprised if Croatia won,” said Fowler.
Scholes said he will go for Didier Deschamp’s men, pointing out that France’s Kylian Mbappe will make the difference between the two teams.
“I probably said this already, two fantastic groups of players and they both deserve to be in the final. I think just the performance of France and Mbappe could be the difference in this game.
“If Croatia can handle him (Mbappe) then… but it’s more because France have (Olivier) Giroud and a special set of guys who do a lot for the team. I’ll go for France to just nick it,” said Scholes.
Fowler and Scholes will be at Resorts World Genting this weekend to close the curtain on Genting Football Fever 2018.
The two former England players will also be present during the third-place match viewing today at 8pm at the Genting International Showroom (GISR) and the final match tomorrow at 9pm at the Arena of Stars.
