This year, 18 local top performers performed at the Charity Jam Session. Like the last 18 years, music enthusiast­s are guaranteed to rock solid performanc­e and spoilt rotten by the bands’ splendid choices of songs. Rocking with the bands aside, it is no secret that Charity Jam Session supporters and their friends look forward year after year to indulge their palate with delicacies from top hotels and well-known restaurant­s. there’s a lot others activity such as free basic medical check-ups by PICU, Lucky Draws, Dutch auctions including preloved branded handbags on sale during the event.

“I am honored to head this Charity Jam Session to raise funds for charity together with local music bands, rock the crowd and showcase the culinary skills of F&Bs. For the last 18 years, this event has brought together supporters from all walks of life, who not only became friends, but also had an impact on our society with their generosity and cultivate greater awareness for the less fortunate. Music is healing, just as food is.” Mr S.S. Rajaa, the organising chairman of the event, said.

Mr Cheah Swee Hee, president of the Malaysian Associatio­n of Hotels said: “MAH is very proud to continuous­ly organise this event to help the needy. The industry is blessed every time it keeps pace with charity. We welcome you to support us in the name of compassion and humanity.”

Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, chairman of MAH Selangor Chapter, said: “Charity is very close to our hearts. We have been very active in organising many CSR events in Selangor. We are indeed very honoured to again be involved in this year’s Charity Jam and to be able to contribute to the less fortunate.”

In its 19-year journey, the MAH Charity Jam has raised more than

RM1.6 million for PICU, FAF and several beneficiar­ies. This year, they are looking to raise the collection bar for the three beneficiar­ies. The donations would help PICU purchase life-care equipment and subsidise critically-ill children from the poor and to enable Food

Aid Foundation to expand their ‘Food Bank’. The fund will also help Saluting Her Endeavour (S.H.E.) to continue with its programmes for the disadvanta­ged, neglected children and single parents.
