Najib: Don’t cancel projects just because they were started by BN

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has been urged to proceed with projects that benefit people.

Citing the Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 project as an example, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government should not cancel it just because it was undertaken by the previous government.

“Anything that is good by the previous government, you should continue it.

“Anything that is not good, you can discontinue it.”

He said the important thing was to make the projects better and not just cancel them.

“You can cancel projects, but are you doing it for the right reason ?

“Are you doing it for the people?

“The government should not blame the previous government.

“It must do better, so that Malaysians who voted them in get what they asked for.”

Najib, who is Pekan member of parliament, said this during his birthday celebration, hosted by his family and friends, at his residence in Jalan Langgak Duta here last night.

Present were Najib’s mother, Tun Rahah Mohamad Noah, wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, his siblings and children.

Also present were families of passengers and crew of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17.

Najib called on Malaysians not to accept less than what they had been promised.

“Malaysians must demand what is rightfully theirs.

“May 9 is still fresh in my mind and 100 days are coming soon. How many promises have been fulfilled?”

He said during his tenure as prime minister, he made promises that he and the government could fulfil.

“I do not want to be accused of lying and I do not want to face Allah when I fail to fulfil my promises.”

On his birthday celebration, Najib thanked his family and friends for organising it.

“I, Rosmah and the family would like to thank guests who attended this celebration.

“Some of the guests used their own money, as well as made contributions. I appreciate your kind gesture.”
