20 years of excellence at MMMC

-

RECOGNISED as one of the top medical schools in the country and a source of highly-proficient medical professionals, Melaka-Manipal Medical College (MMMC) has been entrenched in Malaysia for more than two decades.

MMMC’s reputation is respected worldwide, with many of its alumni practicing in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

It stems from MMMC’s excellent course delivery, with hands-on training right in its medicine and dentistry programmes.

MMMC’s Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) make for a unique educational experience, integrating science and clinical experience with in-depth study and independent research.

Students combine classroom learning with practical training in anatomy and other labs.

The courses emphasise on an integrative approach to healing, where students learn how mental well-being affects physical health.

MMMC students are also given the opportunity to carry out research, and it is no mean feat that some of them have published their work in scientific journals.

MMMC started by offering its well-received MBBS course in 1997, and then the BDS in 2009. The Foundation in Science (FIS) trains SPM school leavers with the basics in medical and dental subjects before furthering their studies.

MMMC is offering scholarships to students who sat their SPM last year. They can obtain some monetary assistance as long as they meet the entry requirements.

MBBS students can also apply for a loan from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), which goes a long way in helping parents to cope with the cost of their sons and daughters‘ medical education.

With a hallmark of academic excellence and an enviable record in providing quality medical and dental education, MMMC is committed to providing a curriculum that offers diverse learning opportunities.

The commitment to excellence is one that is “Inspired by Life”, tempered with ethical service to the nation and humanity.

Online applications can be submitted for this month’s FIS and October’s MBBS and BDS intakes at www.manipal.edu/melaka.

Better still, drive to the campus in Melaka and be convinced of the commitment of Melaka-Manipal to high quality education.
