Proton launches 1-Tank Adventure

-

Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton), the second largest national carmaker in Malaysia, has launched the Proton 1-Tank Adventure.

It will be held across the country from July 17 to Aug 5. Key opinion leaders, celebrities and members of the public will be taking part with media members to experience the performance of selected Proton models and to explore Malaysia’s beautiful scenery, culture and delicious cuisine using just one tank of fuel.

The selected models — Persona, Saga and Iriz — are set to tour five different regions — the Central, East Coast, East Malaysia, Southern and Northern. Winners from each region will compete in the finals for the title of Proton 1-Tank Adventure champion.

The difference between the Proton 1-Tank Adventure from the traditional fuel-saving competitions are it invites participants to explore Malaysia under normal driving conditions with just one tank of fuel and it allows participants to experience Proton cars.

Participants are required to drive standard cars and cannot remove any safety items (i.e the spare tyre) to achieve their targeted fuel mileage. In fact, everyone is encouraged to drive freely with the air-conditioning on and under normal driving conditions to capture a real time fuel performance that will be verified by Malaysia Speed Festival, an independent third party to add credibility to the judging.

Besides demonstrating fuel performance, the event offers dynamic driving activities, where participants can experience the superior handling of Proton cars and first-hand experience of active and passive safety performance.

As of now, registration is closed for Central and East Coast regions, but recruitment for East Malaysia, South and North regions is still open. For details, terms and conditions, please visit Proton official Facebook page: https://w w w.facebook.com/ProtonCarsOfficial.
