Serving as musical and cultural ambassadors, Sofitel Hotels & Resorts transformed the French festival into a global event with its properties hosting unique celebrations that unite French elegance with local elements.

The Fête de la Musique is a French musical event held annually during the European summer since its inception in 1982. The festival originated in a humble burst of musical idealism and a few power connections, and yet, in only two decades has become a wildly popular global event. As a leading French brand, Sofitel Hotels & Resorts played an active role in promoting and celebrating this important cultural event around the world.

This year, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara had partnered up with students from Malaysian Institute of Art that features a group of talented local performers to celebrate its inaugural Fête de la Musique. There was also a French DJ to live up the evening. The hotel used this music celebration to highlight ties between French and Malaysian cultures.

The event took place at the sophisticated Nizza, the FrenchMediterranean inspired restaurant that was transformed into a celebration scene for guests to relish and savour authentic French cuisine and wine. From music recitals to performances and exquisite menu offerings, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara commemorated Fête de la Musique with a unique musical event that mixes French tradition with the very best of Malaysian culture. The evening, with a turnout of more than 120 guests, was attended by the hotel’s distinguished guests and members of the media.
