“Last but not least, have fun at the event and use it as an opportunity to build friendships.”

Treknology brand ambassador Peter Davis, who is a mixed martial arts superstar, actor and model, shared his cycling experience.

From a very young age, Davis, who grew up in Britain, has been interested in bikes.

In fact, he reckoned that he was born to ride.

Davis, 37, regarded his love for cycling an intrinsic part of his personality.

“I used to ride to school when I was 10, wearing a helmet to ensure safety. When I was 16, my friends and I started upgrading our bicycles. Changing tyres, brake pads, handle bars and pedals were all we could afford back then.”

He said cycling was a quality way for people to bond.

Previously into mountain biking, Davis became more involved in road cycling after he moved to Malaysia more than 10 years ago.

It started when his friends invited him for a ride.

He bought a bicycle back in the United Kingdom for £60 (RM320), and, together with some parts he still kept, shipped it to Malaysia.

He said he usually cycled in Hulu Langat, Genting Sempah and Fraser’s Hill.

Along the way, he got closer to nature and discovered breathtaking sceneries.

“The only thing is , you have to start early in the morning or late at night. Otherwise, you get a bit crispy, but Malaysia is a fantastic place for cycling.

“I’m passionate about cycling here,” said Davis, adding that he loved to race with friends and beat his own record.

Treknology will showcase its TREK bicycles and accessories at the C-Cycle Challenge, including demo bicycles for those who want to experience riding TREK bicycles and understand the brand’s technology.
