“The UD Extra Mile Challenge was designed based on UD Trucks’ brand promise of ‘Going the Extra Mile’, as embodied by our company values, quality products and services.

“We always go the extra mile in everything we do and we are always looking for ways to provide our customers with the optimum transport solutions — to provide ultimate dependability.

“Apart from building and selling trucks that our customers can rely on, we take high regard on how we can continue supporting in the aftersales period.

“This is where UD Extra Mile Challenge comes in, as it teaches drivers on fuel efficiency, good driving techniques and behaviours with the aim of enhancing the drivers’ skills and confidence, which will then allow them to carry out their jobs efficiently,” said UD Trucks managing director hub Malaysia Filip Van Den Heede in a statement.

A total of more than 40 UD Quester truck drivers from all over Malaysia have entered the pre-selection rounds of the competition. All four pre-selection rounds were completed recently - at TCIE Batu Caves on July 7, TCIE Johor Baru on July 14, TCTS Bukit Mertajam on July 21 and Edaran Setia Auto Sdn Bhd in Kuantan on July 28.

“Due to the overwhelming response from last year’s competition, we have decided to add another location for the pre-selection making it more accessible for enthusiastic UD Quester drivers from the East Coast,” said TCIE chief operating officer Jaclyn Loy.
