One-stop platform for hiring maids

-

KUALA LUMPUR: IT solutions provider Invenico Asia Sdn Bhd has designed a one-stop platform for the ease of booking and hiring of foreign domestic helpers, called PRAKUU. The platform, which went live in April, connects employers (demand) with agents from source countries (supply) and will reduce the cost borne by employers. Simplifying the overall process of hiring maids, it allows employers to keep track of their maids and also protects the wellbeing of domestic helpers.

“The current cost of hiring a maid, which is around RM15,000, is considered expensive. This is just one of the grouses by the public. However, there remains a high demand for maids among households in the country,” said Invenico Asia chief executive officer Azril Rizal Abdullah. With this in mind, the company developed the PRAKUU platform, which is a one-stop online platform for the convenience of employers, as well as to make it easier on their wallets.

Azril Rizal said at present, Malaysians could book and hire domestic helpers from Indonesia and the Philippines via five simple steps using the platform.

“We are not ‘agents’, but we are playing the role of facilitators between employers and agents from source countries.

“PRAKUU was designed to provide a convenient and easy platform to hire and book maids.

“For Indonesian maids, the cost is RM12,600, and for domestic helpers from the Philippines, the cost is RM9,950, which are much more affordable and lower compared with current market rates charged by various agents.”

In March, Invenico Asia signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia’s Organisation of Recruitment (ASPATAKI) to facilitate the recruitment process.

For those who have been looking for a maid, they need only to log on to PRAKUU to register, choose their maid, make the first payment (50 per cent of the total cost), make the balance payment, and within 45 days, they should receive their maid.

During the promotional period until October, Invenico Asia will provide complimentary services to assist in payment at embassies, issuing of temporary work permits, health screening, stamping and notary, as well as medical insurance for the first year of service.

The platform also provides benefits to the domestic helper, via an eWallet facility which ensures that salaries are paid on time and can be monitored.

“There is an SOS function for domestic helpers to report abuse or request for help directly to the PRAKUU support centre. They can also use the platform to remit money home via eWallet,” Azril Rizal said.
