APPLE continues its annual tradition of introducing upgrades to its existing range of hardware, and it is the MacBook Pro’s turn this time around. With all the new bells and whistles thrown into the mix, the latest generation MacBook Pro is the most advanced notebook from Apple to date.

Boasting Touch Bar capability, it will run on eigth-generation Intel Core processors that have six cores on the 15-inch model, enabling it to deliver up to 70 per cent superior performance than before, while the 13-inch model will sport a quad-core processor that offers two times faster performance. Either way, both MacBook Pros will be perfect for manipulating large data sets, performing complex simulations, creating multitrack audio projects or handling advanced image processing or film editing.

The new MacBook Pro is able to compile code faster and run multiple virtual machines and test environments in a far more efficient manner than before.

You will also have the option of upgrading the MacBook Pro to carry a massive 32GB of RAM, benefiting from a True Tone display alongside an improved third-generation keyboard for quieter typing. Not only that, when it is time for play, the powerful Radeon Pro graphics will churn out the required framerates even when the going gets tough.

A generously-sized Force Touch trackpad makes navigation a snap, while the revolutionary Touch Bar and Touch ID are Apple signatures that one will find it difficult to live without. Audiophiles may not find the updated MacBook Pro to be perfect, but for the average power user, its dynamic stereo speakers are more than capable of handling any audio playback job.

The Apple-designed cooling system is quiet enough for you to work without being distracted by the hum of a fan, while Thunderbolt 3 connectivity provides speedy data transfer, charging and the ability to hook up to a couple of 5K displays or four external GPUs.

In terms of internal memory, store up to 4TB of data on its super fast SSD, with the Apple T2 chip providing enhanced levels of security. Later this year, the updated MacBook Pro will receive the latest macOS Mojave version for free. Prices for the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro will begin from US$1,799 (RM7,320) and US$2,399 respectively.
